The Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) is seeking expressions of interest from potential contractors to provide training and support to ensure that the workforce in schools and further education is ready and confident to deliver the range of new and reformed qualifications for 14-19 year olds.
The support programme will play a crucial role in developing an education system that can offer all young people the choice of a qualifications pathway that suits their needs and helps them to progress onto further learning, higher education and employment.
We are looking for experienced contractors who will be able to deliver a dynamic and high quality support programme and can demonstrate an approach that:
— Is flexible and responsive to the different roles and levels of workforce understanding, knowledge and experience,
— Makes coherent links to support offered by other professional development partners,
— Builds on the existing Diploma Support Programme but provides new practice to meet the latest support priorities.
In addition, the prospective contractor(s) must be able to demonstrate:
— Experience of delivering similar services across a range of providers in the education sector,
— The capacity to provide the service within the timescale and at the required level of quality, applying rigorous project management processes,
— Innovative practice and approaches to build on and add value to the existing Diploma Support Programme.
Please note: we envisage that the contract will be awarded from 1.5.2009 for 12 months initially with options to extend for up to a further 24 months.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if requirements are met: (1) All candidates will be required to produce a certificate or declaration demonstrating that they are not bankrupt or the subject of an administration order, are not being wound-up, have not granted a trust deed, are not the subject of a petition presented for sequestration of their estate, have not had a receiver, manager or administrator appointed and are not otherwise apparently insolvent.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if requirements are met: (1) All candidates will be required to provide a statement, covering the 3 previous financial years including the overall turnover of the candidate and the turnover in respect of the activities which are of a similar type to the subject matter of this notice.
