Serco Regional Services Limited's business unit, Peninsula Enterprise, provides the Business Link service in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon and Somerset, under the direction of the South West of England Regional Development Agency (SWRDA). On behalf of the South West region, Peninsula Enterprise has established a framework contract for the provision of specialist elements of the Business Link Information, Diagnosis and Brokerage (IDB) service, as specified in Business Link National Framework service. The following specialist elements will be delivered across the South West region: Social Enterprise specialist marketing, outreach and facilitation; Social Enterprise Business Support and Enterprise; and Specialist Events. Service providers will be 'called off' the framework to provide the services as a sole branded Business Link service. The framework agreement is funded by SWRDA using Convergence and Competitiveness funding. The new framework agreement commenced in October 2008 and will run to October 2012, with a break clause in March 2010. This period aligns with the current Business Link contracting arrangements.

VI.2) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Serco Regional Services Limited operate the Business Link service in Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly, Devon and Somerset through its business unit Peninsula Enterprise. The Framework Agreement is divided into Lots, as follows:

Lot 1 - Social Enterprise specialist marketing, outreach and facilitation;

Lot 2 - Social Enterprise Business Support and Enterprise;

Lot 3 - Specialist Events.

The successful service providers were awarded the Framework Agreements in respect of one or more Lots. The number of offers included in each section V.2) is the aggregate number of offers received for all Lots. The contract value included in section II.2.1) is an estimate of the total funding available to the contracting authority (for all Lots) to purchase services under the Framework Agreement. The contracting authority is purchasing on behalf of the other Business Link Operators in the South West as follows: Northern Arc Limited * WSX Enterprise Limited.
