    Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

    The East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking to establish a framework agreement for an Actuarial and Benefits Consulting Service to the East Riding Pension Fund (ERPF), which is part of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).

    The (proposed) framework agreement is for use by the four Unitary Councils in the ERPF and any other ERPF employer that wishes to utilise the agreement throughout the duration of the contract term, with no guarantee of the volume of work.

    The successful bidder will be required to demonstrate the necessary expertise and experience of providing the full range of actuarial services as required by an administering authority in relation to the LGPS, UK taxation laws and other relevant pension legislation.

    The estimated value of the proposed framework agreement is between 600 000 GBP and 700 000 GBP for the 4 years of the agreement based on historical information. This does not reflect the potential expenditure as there is no guarantee how much the fund employers will use the framework agreement.

    description of these options: The contracting authority is seeking an initial contract term of 4 years with an option to extend for up to a further 2 years because the Local Government Pension Regulations require the fund to obtain an actuarial valuation of it's assets and liabilities every 3 years. East Riding of Yorkshire Council as the Administering Authority for the East Riding Pension Fund last carried out a valuation as at 31.3.2010. The option to extend, if exercised, would allow the Council to utilise the service for two cyclical actuarial valuations.
