    Contract for the administration of a concessionary travel scheme for buses for eligible persons within the designated area. Administration of the Concessionary Travel Scheme and local discretions. This includes the production and distribution of bus passes, bulk renewals, software provision, database and scheme account management, reimbursement calculations, technical advice and scheme appeals.

    Total quantity or scope

    The administration of a concessionary travel scheme for buses and issuing of concessionary travel cards and associated ICT systems. The scheme administration providing for around 290 000 pass holders in East and West Sussex in which circa 20 000 000 journeys are undertaken per annum. Reimbursement is currently paid to nearly 50 participating bus and community transport operators.

    i) Section II.1.9 – Variants may be permitted in accordance with the requirements set out in the Invitation to Tender.

    ii) Section II.3 – The contract will be for a minimum of 3 years, with an option to extend for two further periods of two years apiece totalling a potential maximum contract period of seven years.

    iii) The Council reserves the right during the contract period to require changes to the services provided by the contractor, including omissions and additions to the services.

    iv) The PQQ (information memorandum and related documentation) are available upon request from the address specified in section I.1 from the date of dispatch of this notice up to 24 September 2010. Expressions of interest must be by way of completion and return of the PQQ no later than 1:00 p.m. on 4 October 2010.

    v) East Sussex County Council is a Public Authority within the meaning of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and all correspondence received will be dealt with in accordance with the Act.
