  The Natural Environment Research Council is seeking expressions of interest for the supply (design & build) of three specialised laboratory containers for use on board multirole oceanographic research vessels as supplementary facilities to each vessels permanently installed laboratories. The vessels operate worldwide from ice edge to ice edge.

  The specialised laboratories (one of each) are likely to be based on a standard 20ft x 8ft x 8ft 6inch high shipping container to ISO specification and have the following purposes:

  Radionuclide laboratory container.

  Ultra clean chemistry laboratory container.

  Biology constant temperature laboratory container.

  These laboratories will become part of the National Marine Equipment Pool see the following URL for further information on the NMEP.

  It is anticipated that a Contract Notice calling for formal expressions of interest and requesting further information from Suppliers will be issued in mid October 2010 with a tender period starting in December 2010.
