    Argyll and Bute Council intend to engage external services to prepare a technical feasibility Campbeltown Loch Marina.

    Set out below is an outline of what services will be required, whilst this is not an exhaustive list, it does demonstrate a clear indication of the level of technical and engineering services required:

    — survey of sea bed for dredging purposes including potential use of bathymetric survey, underwater survey and boreholes,

    — survey of structural stability of existing infrastructure in respect of Campbeltown harbour including harbour walls and sheet piling,

    — analysis and numerical modelling in respect of wind and waves,

    — masterplanning of new on shore facilities associated with contemporary marinas,

    — advice on legislative / regulative requirements,

    — the functionaility and commercial business plan of a large and busy harbour with multiple users including exports,

    — consideration to other CHORD related infrastructure improvements within Campbeltown’s waterfront.

    The last of the points above will to some extent require consultations with appropriate users and regulative authorities.
