    Weapons, ammunition and associated parts. “The Dismounted Soldier Systems (DSS) Project Team of the UK Ministry of Defence proposes to let a Contract with ISTEC Limited to enable the procurement of 16 644 weapon rail adapters for use by the UK Armed Forces for which ISTEC Ltd are the sole proprietary design owners.

    It is considered that this contract can be placed using the Negotiated Procedure Without Prior Publication pursuant to Article 31(2)(b) of Directive 2004/18/EC (Regulation 14(1)(a)(iii) of UK Public Contracts Regulations 2006). ISTEC Limited hold the exclusive design right for the required weapons rail adapter, and to place the contract with another supplier would result in incompatibility and disproportionate technical difficulties in operation and maintenance.”.
