    Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

    The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust is seeking expressions of interest for the provision of a managed service contract (MSC) for a minimum period of 10 years for an automated tracked system consisting of blood cell counters, ESR analyser (or equivalent), slide maker/stainer and sample sorter for the Haematology Department at The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust. The MSC should contain the following:

    — provision to update/upgrade analysers at a maximum frequency of 5 years,

    — an option to further extend the MSC for 5 years if both parties are in agreement; and

    — options to increase the capacity of the services, which may require the installation of further Equipment at a later date,

    A full specification is included with the invitation to tender documents, which are available from the contact point set out at I.1 above. All solutions must fit within the existing footprint of the building (details of which are provided with the Invitation To Tender documents).
