    Land and Environmental Services (LES) provide a special uplift service for bulky items of domestic waste. In 2007/08 circa 23 500 tonnes of bulky household waste was collected and brought to one of the four transfer stations. The Council is seeking via a third party to undertake the collection and further recovery of this bulky waste in order to increase the amount of recycled material generated.

    Precise information on deadline(s) for lodging appeals: Glasgow City Council incorporated a minimum 10 calendar day standstill period at the point of information on the award of the contract is communicated to tenderers. This period allowed unsuccessful tenderers to seek further debriefing from the contracting authority before the contract is entered into. Applicants had 2 working days from the notification of the award decision to request additional debriefing and that information had to be provided a minimum of 3 working days before the expiry of the standstill period. If an appeal regarding the award of the contract has not been successfully resolved the public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (SS) 1 2006 No 1) provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rule to take action in the Sheriff Court or Court of Session.
