    Description of Equipment & Service Required A fully comprehensive Anaesthetic Clinical Information System is required for implementation across Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust comprises 44 operating theatres and four discrete preoperative assessment centres and treats over 10 000 surgical patients per year across a range of specialties including paediatrics. The system must comprise inter-connected modules to collect preoperative and perioperative clinical information, as well as interface with pre-existing clinical equipment (anaesthetic machines, patient monitoring and volumetric devices), and the Trust’s core clinical and patient administrative systems via HL7 compliant and non-compliant interfacing. In addition, the system must be able to generate clinical and managerial reports for use in research, audit, incident investigations and also assist the management of the anaesthetic and theatre services. Data must be electronically archived with full backup and immediate retrieval of historic data at any of the workstations. Workstations must be provided in all anaesthetic rooms, operating theatres and recovery rooms, as well as having workstation functionality in the pre-operative assessment outpatient rooms.
