    Design development and Construction of a four storey building of approximately 4 500 m² space. The Ground floor will house the Wave Tank facility and flumes. A mezzanine floor will provide support space and an observation area. The upper three floors will be for office and department uses with a mixture of open plan space, meeting rooms and partitioned offices. The Building is to be mainly naturally ventilated and must achieve an Excellent BREEAM rating.

    The Marine Building is to house and identify the School of Marine Science and Engineering in a cnetral location within ththe University's main campus, in line with the Estate Strategy.

    Design development (from RIBA Stage E) and construction of a four storey building with wave tank research facilities on the ground floor - approx 4 500 square metres. The contractor will be responsible for the co-ordination and installation of some of the specilaist wave tank equipment, which is being procured separately by the University. The design and manufacturers of this equipment have already been selected through separate OJEU advert, being Edinburgh Design Limited.

    Estimated value excluding VAT: 12 000 000 GBP.

    Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if requirements are met: As specified in the Pre Qualification Questionnaire, which will include Bank reference, VAT number, last 3 years turnover and cashflow, evidence of Insurances held, statement of contingent liability or loss, statement of any pending litigation.

    Minimum level(s) of standards possibly required: Economic operators must be able to demonstrate that they have been trading for at least 3 years and that the turnover of the contracting company (not Parent Group) providing the service is not less than 5 times greater than the potential contract value per annum, i.e. 40 000 000 GBP. Minimum levels of insurance deemed acceptable for this project will be 10 000 000 GBP Professional Indemnity and 10 000 000 GBP for Employers Liability and Public/Contractors Liability.
