Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

In the UK, 3 900 000 children live in poverty. Many don't have access to warm winter clothing, nutritious food, decent housing or education. Save the Children have been working in the UK since the 1920s, and today our focus is on fighting for the rights of disadvantaged children through ending child poverty and closing the education attainment gap between poorer pupils and their richer peers. Despite the Government’s promises, nearly 1 700 000 children in the UK are living in severe poverty. We are working to ensure that by 2015 no child in the UK is living in severe poverty.

    What we are doing.

    — We are holding the Government to account on their promise to end child poverty by 2020,

    — We are calling for the Government to break the link between poverty and educational achievement,

    — We are working with children and young people living in poverty to identify solutions to local problems within their community,

    — We are engaging with families and schools to encourage parental interaction in their children’s education.

In order to effectively scale up our work across the UK we would like to invite applications from organisations and companies who wish to be considered for inclusion on an approved partner register. This register will allow Save the Children to effectively partner with like-minded organisations as either a Lead Agent or as a sub-contractor.
