Dans le cadre d'un plan de relance, la Région Réunion s'est engagé à réaliser un programme de réhabilitation des bâtiments de son patrimoine. Le Lycée 3 bassins est concerné par ce chantier. Le projet consiste en la réhabilitation du lycée 3 bassins, plus particulièrement:

— la mise en conformité de la cuisine satellite,

— la réhabilitation de l'ensemble des blocs sanitaires existants,

— le ravalement de l'ensemble des façades du lycée,

— la création d'un local pour les produits de sciences,

— la production de l'eau chaude solaire.
