      Somerset County Council as the lead authority will procure on behalf of a collaboration of participating authorities [Somerset County Council; Bristol & Northeast Somerset; North Somerset; Gloucester; Bath; Dorset and Borough of Poole] a shared Browser based Library Management System which will deliver a full range of functionality suitable for a public library service including but not restricted to, acquisitions, cataloguing, circulation, online public interfaces and reporting. The system (or systems) will be used by all the authorities named below.

      The procurement will result in 1 of 2 outcomes:

      1. A contract for a single shared system for all authorities [Somerset County Council; Bath & Northeast Somerset Council; North Somerset Council; South Gloucestershire District Council; Bristol City Council, Borough of Poole and Dorset County Council]

      2. A contract for a shared system for all authorities [Somerset County Council; Bath & Northeast Somerset Council; North Somerset Council; South Gloucestershire District Council; Bristol City Council and Borough of Poole] plus a separate contract with Dorset County Council.

    At the time of this notice there are two potential contract outcomes from the procurement

    1) A contract for a single shared system for all seven authorities [Somerset County Council; Bath & Northeast Somerset Council; North Somerset Council; South Gloucestershire District Council; Bristol City Council; Borough of Poole and Dorset County Council]

    2) A contract for a shared system for six authorities [Somerset County Council; Bath & Northeast Somerset Council; North Somerset Council; South Gloucestershire District Council; Bristol City Council and Borough of Poole]

    plus a separate contract with Dorset County Council

    The system will incorporate all Library services including Community Managed Libraries which in at least one authority currently are independent legal entities supported by local Authorities through an agreed package of support, are provided with access to the LMS at no extra cost
