National Grid is an international electricity and gas infrastructure business.
In the UK we have a major programme to modernise and extend Britains energy infrastructure. It is a national activity on an unprecedented scale and it is essential we gain public understanding and acceptance of this work in order to deliver this infrastructure successfully.
We need to provide connections for any new generation including new low carbon energy generation to the national transmission system and this will mean network reinforcement and new infrastructure.
A key aspect of this programme is seeking the views of the public through extensive consultation with statutory bodes, local authorities and local communities in line with the principles set out in the National Grid Stakeholder Community and Amenity Policy.
