      Birmingham City Council (BCC) is seeking to appoint an organisation to undertake the design and construction of highway upgrades to a 2km length of the A452 Chester Road between the junction with the Tyburn Road ("Bagot Arms" junction) and the M6 Junction 5. The works will provide capacity improvements to the main junctions and to pedestrian and cycle facilities and will involve widening of carriageways and approaches to junctions, signalisation of junctions, upgrading pedestrian crossings, utility diversions, drainage, lighting, lining, signage, landscaping and traffic management.

      BCC will be using its e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and providers must register with the system to be able to express an interest.       Description of particular conditions: The performance of the contract will be undertaken in accordance with the requirements of the Highway Authority - Birmingham City Council. Under this contract organisations are required to participate actively in the economic and social regeneration of the locality of and surrounding the place of delivery for the project. Accordingly contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental conditions.
