System quality assurance assessment and review services. Various MOD establishments throughout England and Scotland currently have or are working towards an ISO 9001:2008 quality management system. This requirement is for a 4 year contract to maintain, re-certify and implement ISO 9001:2008 accreditation including Phase 1 and 2 assessments. All visits shall be conducted in line with the current schedules to ensure quality management systems are not jeopardised.
The MOD establishments in question are split into 2 areas, they are:
1) Non-explosive sites that cover the provision of defence equipment storage, despatch and technical stores services including material accounting control and site functions for the UK armed forces. Also included is the disposal of surplus UK Government assets excluding nuclear material;
2) Defence munitions sites cover the support and processing, receipt, inspection, storage, accounting, disassembly, modification, maintenance, repair, assembly, testing, integration and distribution of this equipment to our approved customers. The processing / production, assembly, integration, final inspection, test and storage of Weapon Equipment Spares, including General Stores. Processing, handling and storage of armaments including small ordnance and conventional weapons. The supply and upkeep of shore and depot infrastructure support services to visiting surface vessels.
It is essential that companies expressing an interest shall submit their Accreditation Certificate in accordance with the recognised International Standard ISO/IEC 17021:2006 Conformity assessment – requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of managements systems, for Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2008) issued by United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) or equivalent under International Accreditation Forum (IAF) Multi-Lateral Recognition Agreement (MRA). It is essential that companies shall hold full accreditation against the following EA codes: EA18, EA19, EA21, EA29, EA31, EA34 and EA35.
