HSE CRD is responsible for the programme to monitor pesticide residues in the UK food supply. EU law (Regulation 396/2005 EC) requires EU member states to monitor pesticide residues in food. Member states must carry out compulsory monitoring as part of
an EU-wide monitoring programme specified annually – the most recent requirements are set out in Regulation 1274/2011. In addition, member States must have an additional national monitoring programme. Purchase of retail samples is currently part of this programme
and it is this aspect of the programme that is now being re-tendered. HSE is inviting tenders to deliver the above requirement during the period starting 01 January 2013 and potentially ending on 31 December 2016. Expressions of Interest are invited from individuals
and/or organisations, who will be required to formally register their interest in this opportunity in order to receive the complete tender documentation, including any additional clarification to questions received pertaining to the details of the specification
