      National Grid is seeking expressions of interest from economic operators able to supply products and services detailed below. This is a two stage procedure, including a pre qualification round. Applicants who are successful at PQQ stage will be invited to tender.

      The scope of supply will be the provision of gas pipe leakage repair products and Monoethyl Glycol (MEG) or technically similar equivalent, into a central delivery point and direct to sites in England.

      Products and services are required for the Gas Distribution network and include.

      Heat Shrink Sleeves.

      Muffless Encapsulation of Mains and Service Risers.

      Muffless Encapsulation of Medium Pressure (MP) Mains and Low Pressure (LP) Mains.

      Greater than 14 inch Diameter.

      External Anaerobic Joint Injection.

      Anaerobic Injection of Screwed Joints.

      The Internal Application of Rubber Co-Emulsion Sealants to Gas Risers and Services in High Rise Buildings (Fill and Drain).

      Anaerobic Internal Spraying.

      Muffed Encapsulation Mains Repair.

      Internal Sealing.

      MEG or technically acceptable equivalent.

    The integrity of the National Grid UK Gas Supply Network depends on ensuring that all products, equipment and techniques which are introduced and utilised are suitable for their intended purpose.It is essential that the process by which these are evaluated ensures compliance with legislative requirements, gas industry and or company standards, recognised specifications and relevant operational procedures including any best practice. Field trials may also be required for the following reasons:

    1. To ensure the product, equipment or technique is suitable for the required user application.

    2. To gain confidence in the product, equipment or technique and that risks are properly controlled before any full-scale introduction into business, i.e. ensuring fitness for purpose.

    3. Identify any new or changed requirements to existing products, equipment, tooling, specifications, procedures, maintenance and training products, equipment and techniques shall be evaluated, approved to specification and accepted for use in National Grid Gas Distribution up to and including 7 bar maximum operating pressure.
