South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley serving the people of Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, Hambleton and Richmondshire and beyond.
We pride ourselves on patients receiving high quality, safe and efficient healthcare thanks to the hard work and dedication of our staff.
The trust runs The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and the Friarage Hospital in.
Northallerton providing district general hospital services for: around 278 000 people living in Middlesbrough and the local authority area of Redcar and Cleveland 138 600 people in an area stretching from the North Yorkshire Moors to the central Pennines, the borders of York District in the south and the borders of Darlington in the north.
We also welcomed community services from Hambleton, Richmondshire, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland into the trust in April 2011 including services at:
Redcar Primary Care Hospital.
Guisborough Primary Care Hospital.
Carter Bequest Hospital in Middlesbrough.
East Cleveland Primary Care Hospital in Brotton.
The Rutson Rehabilitation Unit in Northallerton.
Friary Community Hospital in Richmond.
Lambert Memorial Community Hospital in Thirsk.
Our workforce of almost 9 000 (including community services) also provides a range of specialist regional services to 1.5 million people in the Tees Valley and parts of Durham, North Yorkshire and Cumbria, with a particular expertise in heart disease, trauma, neurosciences, renal services, cancer services and spinal injuries.
We are continuing to build on our links with the Universities of Teesside, Durham and Newcastle and have a purpose-built academic centre with medical students and nursing and midwifery students doing their clinical placements on site.
The trust is also the host site for the County Durham and Tees Valley Local Clinical Research Network and a host site for the North East Research Design Service, reaffirming our commitment to training, life-long learning and research.
At the Friarage Hospital, we also host the Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit, a partnership which has gone from strength to strength.
The South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking expressions of interest for a Contractor to introduce and maintain the concept of a Managed Service for beds and patient surface area equipment.
This service would ideally include, but is not limited to, the following pieces of equipment:
Beds.
Bariatric beds.
Higher specification beds.
Community beds.
Labour suite beds.
A&E, Theatre, ITU and Endoscopy trolleys.
Mattresses.
Birthing mattresses.
Pressure relieving mattresses – medium risk.
Pressure relieving mattresses – high risk.
Bariatric mattresses.
Static chairs (patient bedside).
Pressure relieving seat cushions.
Commodes.
Wheelchairs.
And the following requirements:
Electronic asset tracking system.
Staff training and education programme.
Maintenance.
Repair.
Decontamination services.
Following PQQ Evaluations short listed bidders will be required to conduct equipment audits across the Trusts sites for both acute and community. Indicative times for the audit are w/c 26th July 2012.
At the ITT stage short listed bidders will be invited to submit cost effective solutions to meet the requirements of the service specification, with a view to achieving the following:-.
Supply, maintenance and repair of equipment as listed above.
Supply and maintenance of accessories for bed frames.
Management of The Trust’s existing owned pressure relieving products and electric bed frames.
Planned Preventative Maintenance and Safety Audits.
Cleaning and disinfecting service with an agreed response time.
Product and accessories asset movement and tracking service.
Technicians to enable required response times to be met.
Storage, repair and maintenance facility.
Controlled usage against protocols.
Education and support solution.
Management of the above activities including help desk, call logging, storage, spares procurement, off site transportation, disposal, contract response time monitoring and written monthly reports.
A minimum, initially, of six monthly pressure ulcer prevalence audits in conjunction with the Wound Care Service.
